Happy Election Day

Well I did the deed this morning (I only missed voting one year since I turned 18). Every year the political signs seem to multiply like rabbits. There is one business in Ashland that takes it to the extreme. One would think that it would not be good for business to plaster so many GOP signs in a strong Democrat majority like up here, but what do I know. There's a good chance every one of the candidates on his signs will lose. His anti-civil union/gay marriage is the one that bugs me. Oh well, I guess the votes will be in soon enough.

There's a few places up here that put every candidate's sign on their property--it's odd to see the signs of to opposing candidates staked to the same lawn.

CO also has a 1 Man/1 Woman Marriage amendment and also a domestic partnership referendum on the ballot. The preliminary results aren't looking to good for civil unions. Oh well ... the full results will be in soon enough.

Now I'm just rambling ...

The civil union looks bad here in Wisco as well. I guess we are a nation of bigots.

The other races are going well-it looks as though WI 08 may switch to a Dem. Our district was heavily won by Obey(D) and governor Doyle (D) will remain. Also Kohl(D) will keep hs senate seat. No surprise.

No word on the local races yet. Or the reinstating the death penalty, but if the civil union goes through, the death penalty may as well.

Legalised bigotry and murder.

Unfortunately, looks like the same-sex marriage bans passed. But, like pot, it can't stay illegal long.

We just need a few people to kick off, and things will come around.

More annoying are those stupid recorded things on my answering machine. Does anyone listen to those things?

I'm sure glad election is over. As you lived in Idaho. You must know something about idaho politics.

I tend be a meduim purple and Idaho went red once again. But I've seen Idaho at deep tone of red.

I posted who and how I voted in my blogg today.

MOT: I was really hoping Wisco would be the first to defeat Marriage amendment. Didn't Nevada have an amendment to legalise pot this year? I guess it will just take some time for people to get evolve.

Peppylady: Politics was one of the reasons I left Idaho. It was too much red for my taste. When I lived there I worked with a group of people who were bright, nice folk but they listened to Limbaugh and used his talking points. I really thought ID-01 might go Dem this year. Maybe next time.
