Emma: My Great Travel Companion

The other day I was going through some pictures and was struck by how many different photos I have of Emma around the country. She has been coast to coast and from Canada to the desert Southwest. Truely a great companion. Here are a couple (Sorry if you have dial-up)
Cooling off in SW Colorado
Base Camp: near Moab, Utah

A Day at the Beach-Washington Coast
The Giant Sitka- Olympic Peninsula, WA
Cave Dog: Nine Mile Canyon, Utah
Montana Mountains
Olympic Rainforest, WA
Cape Lookout Oregon Coast

Awwwww.... great pics. Great trips! How great to share that with someone so happy...

I used to do trips like that. Now I (ahem, cough cough) visit my computer and eat cheese puffs with my cat (cough). Ah, well!

She was very happy in the NW. Emma turned 5 in August. Most of these pics were taken about 1 1/2- 2 years ago.

gtr: My traveling has been limited lately as well. Oh well maybe late this spring new baby and all.

Actually, all of these pictures were taken when we were living out of my car (spring-fall 05). In a sense, all of these locations were where we were living at the moment.

What part of Montana was the mountains in?

Emma looks like nice puppy.

I keep hearing how beautiful the Oregon Coast is but never seen it yet.

Wow, what great photos! I love the one on the Olympic Peninsula too. They're all so great, you could publish a book - "Travels with Emma" maybe?

Oh to have an off-leash dog! I can only dream of such. Jaxsun has *no* recall at all.

Beautiful pictures.

I LOVE those pictures!
You were living out of your car back then, but you had the greatest freedom to see all those beautiful places.
You are a lucky one :)

Really spectacular. If I ever get back to painting, I'd love to paint Emma in Olympic Rainforest and/or Cape Lookout! The pic of her in Olympic Rainforest shows all her years and emotion in that one frame. She is a beautiful, happy dog. Congratulations on such happiness and peace.

peppylady: The picture of the mountains was south of Missoula on the Idaho-Montana border. The Oregon coast is wonderful, especially if you can hit the off season, but before the rain. Oswald State Park is one of my favourite places.

Cheryl: LOL. I probably could put together a small photo display. Maybe at a coffee shop.

nio: Emma has gotten into a bit of trouble off leash- like when she chased a huge black bear or when she got separated from me in a Utah canyon or the two times she has gotten stuck by a porcupine. Ah well....

mone: the freedom was nice. I was also "looking" for work so I was still claiming unemployment which helped pay for the gas.

lesleyc: I would like to get back into painting myself. I hope you can find the chance to. I really like the colour of Emma in the rainforest-everything is so green.
