Another Crazy Winter
My absence in the blogging world has been the result of another heavy winter here in the Inland Northwest. Every morning I have to spend some amount of time doing car, driveway, or woodstove activities. This has caused me to have little time for cafe going where I do my blogging (still no internet at the old homestead). Last week we had an ice dam on the roof which caused some some leaking. I finally got the ice dam removed yesterday then ended up shoveling the entire roof. Which is a little sketchy because of the 30' height of it. Anyhow, today we're supposed to get another foot of snow so I'm about to give-up on keeping the driveway clear and start hitching a ride with a co-worker. I love snow, but sometimes it's a real pain. Well here are some recent pics anyhow;
View from the mostly shoveled roof
The driveway when it wasn't too bad
KIA in the driveway
Me playing peek-a-boo on the roof
At least it's toasty inside for a good book

Oh I was going to tell you all about the snow but I see it looks the same there as here.
Stay warm and safe.
Coffee is on.
Hey Quinn, I just wanted to wish you all a happy holiday, B really hoped to be able to go visit with you all but it did not pan out. =( I do not envy your snow, 14 inches rendered us (P-town)immobile, which still makes me laugh even if I know why.. =D
Stay warm, lovely pics...the stump creatures especially cool.
Yep, we're getting a ton of snow here too. Ah, if I didn't have to work, I'd be up for settling in here and not going anywhere for the next month or so. But is sure looks pretty out. Happy new year.
Peppy: I think the entire inland NW got this blast of winter.

Yeah we were a bit bummed that B couldn't make it up. Hopefully Feb he can visit-you're welcome too if you make the trip over.
In the meantime shoveling seems to be the daily routine. My car is stuck in the driveway as I type and we're supposed to get another 10" tonight. Sheesh.
Carla:
It does look pretty.
We've been meaning to make a trip up across the border, but have had some concerns with the road from Creston to Crawford Bay. Happy New Year.
I'm so glad you stopped by. After my computer crashed I'd lost all my feeds, so I lost you!
Try to stay warm. We are since 98% of it MELTED! Ugh.

I've been off of blogging for awhile, but I'm up and at it again. Sorry to hear your snow is going, unless you want it to melt. I don't think ours is going anywhere. In fact, more is forecasted for tonight.
Wow that is some snow, careful not to lose the little one in any drifts.
Well, here I am wishing for just a little snow this winter and then I see your pictures - I don't want that much!
I'm a bit wary of heights so I can't even imagine shoveling snow off a roof. Was it last winter or even the one before you posted a photo of you jumping off a roof into a huge snowdrift? - better not try that this year, the current roof looks a lot higher!
Maggie:
When the snow was fluffy I almost lost myself in it. KIA isn't real fond of playing in it yet so I don't think we have to worry. I am going to build an awesome sled run tomorrow though.
Willow:
I didn't plan on this much snow again this year-it's a bit much. Especially when it starts costing so much for removal. Yeah I remember that photo of me jumping back in Wisco. This roof is much higher I don't think I'll attempt it.
You shovel your roof? Never heard of that one! But o.k., we have a high roof. Last week -18 F. Did I mention I dont like winter? Happy New Year to you :)
